Ultra-Light, works perfectly
Very light, extremely easy to use, and I havent had a single issue since I purchased it about 2 years ago. My only gripe is, I wish it dimmed even lower than it does to preserve battery life. I feel battery life is a bit lacking, but its enough to last for one or two nights of moderate use. Make sure to bring a battery pack with you, like something from Anker.
I stumbled upon this bad boy trailside in the bottom of the Grand Canyon this summer and picked it up just to pack it out. I didnt plan on keeping it because it looked different than other headlamps and honestly the construction looked a little cheap. Since then this has been my go-to HL and it kicks the piss out of the other three HLs I own in every way (Petzl Tikkina, Black Diamond, and a PTEC Sync). It is brighter with a far better field of view, fits better and snugger, and the charge lasts a long time vs. the other HLs which msrp at almost twice the price and somehow still depend on AAAs. I use it to run on winter nights and biking home from the local watering hole in the summer. It is easy to adjust and the output brightness is great. I am an electrical engineer and usually pretty critical, but this product is slick, cheers.
I have used this headlamp probably a dozen times on a few camping trips this summer so far & it has been perfect! Love how lightweight it is on my head after a full weekend of use I have not experienced it going dead yet. Best headlamp I have ever had! The rechargeable feature is priceless for me. Thx UCO!!!
Hiked the AT last year with two of these. Super light weight, most intuitive control, super comfortable. I'm a gear freak and consider these headlamps among my most useful kit. Highest recomendation.
Great little headlamp didn’t expect much out of the brightness or battery because it’s size. But it quickly proved me wrong had mine for a few months and works great it’s my go to lamp
Its perfect. Its very lightweight. Easily packable in tight places. With my solar charger and power banks I see no problem using this on a thru hike. 150 lumens is not necessarily needed so I have no issue with the battery life. It's going in my pack to replace my old one.
Super light, impressively bright, comfortable, and worth every single penny. Only let down is the battery life. I cant blame them for it because the whole premise is to be light weight and comfortable. Easily this is accomplished so Im happy with it. Sure its annoying to have to plug it up every water/snack break, but its not them to blame. Battery tech just isnt their yet. On low setting, for having less than 200 mAh, 5 hours is still impressive. You can also charge and use at the same time if need be so disregard the stinky reviews. Just realize with the tech we have, uco made an outstanding product with the specs of the head lamp. Great job guys! When the battery poops out on me Im buying another one for sure
Awesome for short uses
I got this bad boy in my Cairn box, and I couldnt be happier with it! Im not sure Id rely on needing to recharge it on a multi day trip (why it only got four stars), but if you had a good solar setup it would be great. But I love it for night walks, taking the dog out, and having around the house for super bright hands free light when I need it! It lasted about a month on one charge just for taking the dog out, and is super comfortable. Light weight, not at all itchy or headache inducing, and I love the red light option if I took it camping for a day or two. All around an awesome headlamp if you can easily recharge it
Awesome except for battery life
I was super excited about this headlamp!! Love the wood in the design (plus the overall appearance), love how lightweight it is, how comfortable, love the rechargeable battery (and I don't think its a big deal that a cable isn't included... who doesnt have multiple micro-USB cables hanging around already??), love that you can turn it like a dial to dim it in gradual nuances, love how strong the high beam is! Unfortunately... I didn't read that it only has 48 mins - 5 hours battery life when I took it (fully charged!) to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim a couple days ago. I was so excited about my headlamp and kept raving about it!!
until about an hour after using it on medium high, it started blinking rapidly on its death march. And... we still had a few hours to go, in the dark. Luckily I had my iPhone to use as a flashlight (plus chargers, though the phone light would last multiple hours anyway), and I just tucked that into my hipbelt to have a waist-high beam. Which worked great, but I was so bummed about the headlamp letdown:(
Because, even if Id known it would have lasted five hours if on low... what kind of trip only needs a headlamp for five hours or less?? And, then only if you keep it on low)-? Not one I go on!! With a cable I couldve recharged from my extra phone batteries, but not while wearing it! Serious bummer. I honestly was about to buy it for many of my friends.

One fatal flaw
I received this light as part of my monthly Cairn box. The light is small, light weight and easy to use, the headband seems comfortable and quite functional. However mine does have one major design flaw which for me, make it virtually unusable. The hinge is too loose and despite the very light weight of the lamp, I have been unable to get it to stay at a fixed tilt, even during light activity like walking my dog.
This is very unfortunate. If this hinge issue can be fixed I think this would be an awesome light.
Super light weight and I love the settings with the brightness of the light. Little bummed it didnt come with a charging cable
This is an awesome little headlamp. As a scoutmaster our troop tries out lots of gear that just does not work. UCO makes some amazing gear for the budget friendly.
Here is a great review.
Just got this in my October Cairn box. Like everyone else here, I love this thing! I just have one issue: like some of the others, it would be better if it came with a charging cable. Other than that, this headlamp ROCKS!
Great and lightweight
!! Received in my Cairn box. What a treat. Love candle lanterns from this company! Definitely hit it out of the park on this one... cant wait to try!
I just got this in my Carin box for October. I absolutely love it. Lightweight comfortable and very very bright also like that it is adjustable ! Awesome I am very happy!
air headlamp from carn
got this out of my cairn box super light, good band but i do not like the discrepancy between the web site saying 1.5 hours of battery on high and the actual product box saying under an hour 0.80 to be exact.
UCO Reply: We've corrected the website. The box is correct, the battery life looks like this:
48 mins on High
1.5 hours on Medium
5 hours on Low
Love the neoprene headband
I received this in my October Cairn box and I’m already in love with it. I do have a concern about what charger goes with it. I have an iPhone so not sure which one to buy.
UCO Reply: It uses a standard micro-usb cable. Many cameras, phones and other electronics uses this cable. Very likely if you own any other consumer electronics made in the last 5 years you have this cable. If you don't have one we may have an extra for you.
Great fit and design
I got this headset as a “surprise” item in my October Cairn subscription. I love it. So light weight, and the light is plenty bright, yet infinitely adjustable from 10 to 150 lumens. My favorite feature is the head band. It’s padded webbing, not elastic. It’s like wearing a comfortable fitted ball cap.
This headlamp is really easy to recharge. Lightweight and breathable. I love it.
A perfect ultra-lite companion
This HL is so thin and light-weight! The strap is also super unique, made with foam and fabric instead of elastic, fits my head perfectly. It has been great for running, makes me forget I have a headlamp on at all
Awesome for running
I couldnt believe how light this thing is! With the days getting shorter I needed a light for my morning run and this does the job wonderfully. Other headlamps I have used tend to flop around and dig into my forehead after a while. I would buy this thing again in a heartbeat, no doubt about it.
Brighter than expected
I just got this in a Carin Box. Having never heard of UCO I am impressed with their new headlamp. It is very lightweight and brighter than I thought it would be. Easy to plug into my trucks USB charger. Cheers from Maine.
